#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Morning Brook

Charlie nudged me, early, up and out, Kelly, up and out! Well, not as fast as he wanted, but I got out early enough. It was a dream of sunniness, with the slightest chilly breeze, What a relief of sunlight on my face. It was frosty and rewarding. Bits of ice forming here and there as the temperature dropped after the rain of yesterday. I stopped at the brook and looked for a long time at the pictures there and felt a renewal. It was a busy day of preparing for two groups tomorrow. In the morning, Farm Pond Writers. In the evening, I’m starting a new Aim for Astonishing 6 month webinar. I enjoyed planning them, and still have a bit of prep left to do, but I wanted to work on the possibility of a new poem for Thursday workshop. A storm is blowing into the Northeast tomorrow: my youngest texts: have you prepared? In these Zoom times, a storm isn’t much of a threat, but we will bring in some outdoor furniture. I think I found a poem. I had put some notes for it together a few weeks ago, and it wrote itself, fairly quickly, which may mean it’s a very rough draft and not much of a poem at all. But I felt relief to have it. I produced a fund-raiser on Zoom tonight for the Guild and that took the late afternoon and evening, was a success, and now I’m tired. A bright spot of my early afternoon, a visit from my dear friend, masked in the yard with her puppy. Charlie so big brotherly, willing to play. Now, Charlie will not end his day; he’s out in the dark barking the deer away and won’t come in. How grateful I am for Charlie, in the day and in the night.
