#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Cheerful Morning Brook

“A waiting person is a patient person. The word patience means the willingness to stay where we are and live the situation out to the full in the belief that something hidden there will manifest itself to us.”
Henri J.M. Nouwen

Yes, I wanted the sun today, and here it was, so bright at the river, coming through the trees. So bright in the river, and cheerful in the brook and above my head, I felt expansion in my chest. Breath. Relief for sun. I stayed out for a good long walk with Charlie. And then I came home for my poetry workshop. It was so great to be back with this group! Even though my poem was rough, it helped to share it. I advanced it. But I have lots of work to do on it. I admired everyone' else’s poems very much. And want to get more time for my poems over the next few days. I had a Skype call with a writer from Scotland who wanted information about my monologue writing workshops. I enjoyed getting to know her hopes about writing a one-woman show. And, in the late afternoon, I walked with my daughter to the river and into the woods in the sunshine, and we had a good talk about her life. We talk, of course, throughout the day. But there’s always special, deeper, more meaningful talks on a long walk in the woods.
