We're still resting Suzi's aches so she'll be in tip top shape for our Martha's Vineyard hikes in later July. So, it's just me and Charlie again today, and a long run in the breezy woods. It was perfect running weather, and I loved the slap of my sneakers on the muddy trail and the slap of the drippy pine branches on my bare arms, as if the whole run was into refreshment. Wake up!

Then, home to good news about two of my poems, "The Trouble of Us," and \ ˈfä-t͟hər \ to be published in the same journal this fall. I liked very much opening an acceptance, rather than a rejection. I'm also pleased that this journal took one mother poem and one father poem.

I was actually ready for my group tonight with a piece much sooner than usual - and after I finish reading it aloud in my group there's a big patch of silence before anyone comments. And, when the silence is broken, I get a lot of great feedback and some very encouraging appreciation. 

Now, after this busy day, my eyes are closing. . .
