#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Suzi says it's spring

It's warming up. Easy to walk without a coat, but the trail through the woods is muddy soft and slurpy here and there, so boots still best. Relief of sunshine. I have been up early, making submissions to counter rejections. And after that, and after my walk, I work on my essay for tonight. And I'm slightly anxious to bring it. Only a portion of it seems to be working well, but I can't make it better if I don't write it at all, and I must bring it, and let it be as imperfect as it is and just believe that's okay. And so I do. And the parts I am concerned are not very good, my group sees, and says why they're not very good. But the rest is better than I thought, a nice surprise. I can work with this feedback for certain. I can keep writing and revising without the cranky voices in my head telling me to stop. This is energizing. Because shutting the crank voices up is a drain. I am lighter, tonight. I feel how Suzi looked in the river this morning: buoyant, lighthearted, swimmer.
