#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

On the other side of the river, this morning, on the trail up the hill, overlooking the slim green half-frozen river, leaning against a huge boulder under pines, this three inch slab of ice. Some ambitious, artful hiker,(or two?) has gone to the great trouble, of lugging this fine piece of plate glass up the hill from the frozen overflow of the river in the wetlands. As if to say: behold, nature’s sculpture. Cold, dry, glorious December ice. We wander the woods like a museum. I’m grateful to the ice lugger, whoever so passionately wanted to display this beauty for whoever might pass and find it.
