#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

The rain all night long is comforting, inviting, even. Happy to be home, I don’t mind the thought of getting washed and drenched in the woods. The river is so high I have to change my direction to avoid wading calf deep in cold water. Our brook swells into a leaf littered pond. This is unusual, going into winter. Today is a busy day, with a number of conversations, some satisfying intimacy. Over lunch, by an unlit fireplace in an Inn with a friend, I appreciate the chance to take our friendship to a deeper level of listening, warmth, sharing and trust. The whole day is like this, really, Deep connections. Another submission rejection comes, and I must send more work out, but not today. I met with an a graphic designer whom I hope to hire for a writing project, and presenting my needs and vision felt satisfying. Hours passed and the rain and clouds of November were a welcome and inviting weather of my day. Home home home home, how lucky I am to feel at home in my life and to have had some moments of listening and connecting that may have brought some comfort and sense of home to others. Who knows what tomorrow brings? Today, my spirit is like the brook, spilling over the edges into pond.
