#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
I woke to the thrill of fresh snow, inches more than forecasted, and enough for snowshoes and a long hike under sky, still snowing. We didn't stop for any pictures: we walked to meet a friend between her house and mine in Rocky Narrows. Instead of pictures in the snow there was the lovely refreshment of deep and satisfying conversation, the noise of our voices breaking the stillness in the bright landscape.
Home late, I write before turning out the light. Charleston wanted to stay out by the river all night barking at all the wildlife he could smell and hear and sense trespassing in his territory. And so, under the light of the full moon, Suzi and I trudged through snow out to the river, following the sound of his barking, to coax him home with a cookie.
A delightful day ends.
