#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Foggy Rails

My body is as sluggish as my skis through this melting snow, but the fresh air enlivens my mind. My creativity is not slushy and sluggish, I'm crackling with energy from the book talk and open mic we hosted in our IWWG Digital Village last night. Our online home draws women writers into community – virtually –from their homes around the country and the world. I love the energy of our chat room: writers exchanging words of appreciation and encouragement after their 3-minute readings. So much hope is exchanged in this deep listening: your voice matters to me, we say to each other. Keep writing. I'm listening. The power of our chat room is: every voice matters. We meet each other as writers and artists and human beings. This is the energy my mind is crackling with this morning while my tired muscles try to glide through gluey snow. Still, it's lovely in the dense fog with the sound of melting snow and ice, water trickling all around.
