This morning a loved one is having an outpatient medical procedure, and so my day will mostly be spent indoors. There's no time before leaving home for a walk. But here is a large commercial parking lot that stretches across acres and acres of office buildings, supermarkets, medical suites. It's lovely to be in fresh air, warm sun after the sealed, artificially lit medical suite without windows to the outside. I find beautiful flowers - planted, not wild as I love them – but I pinch a sprig of lavender in the lilies for a sweet moment of aromatherapy. I stop at a water feature, a shooshing fountain, and listen to the sound of water falling into water that drowns out the traffic. I return indoors, my senses both soothed and enlivened. I am refreshed.
