#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Last night was heavy rain. This morning the trees drip, the mushrooms sprout, the milkweed blooms and the wild blueberries take their own sweet time to ripen. By the railroad tracks I spy a tiny five-petaled yellow flower with a bold red circle in its center. I soon learn it's name - swamp candles! What a lovely idea! There's a bright yellow capped mushroom I look up: I believe it's Amanita muscaria var. guessowii. Yellow, yellow, yellow enlivens this moist muggy morning in meadow and woods.
