#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

A dear friend who is visiting from the West Coast is my companion in the spring woods this morning. We're talking, and listening deeply to each other's stories. We're preparing. Today, we will lead a writing from your life retreat for women writers. Maureen saw this frog hop onto our path on the trail and pointed her/him out to me...

Green frog (Lithobates clamitans melanotus)

These very common frogs are found throughout Massachusetts where they breed in ponds, marshes, and river backwaters and side-channels. Their calls are short, explosive banjo-plucks, sometimes linked together like a series of echoes. Listen for them in mid to late spring.http://massnaamp.org/calling_amphibians.html

Today, as we lead our retreat, we'll be as lively and engaging as this brilliant green frog hopping onto the path of the women writers who gather We will signal the need to regard intuition – trust intuition– as a necessary, valuable tool in writing memoir and stories from our lives.
