#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Writer's View

Every Wednesday morning, the writers - the women in the weekly writing workshop I facilitate - approach this threshold. This beautiful arch welcomes us to our host's home, and our creative process. Who knows what will happen, what will be revealed? With our eyes toward nature, we cross the threshold, climb the stairs to a room of our own with a view to this natural pond. We show up. We make this time to write together, to listen. This is a practical and artistic and spiritual process, most of all.  I invite everyone to bring a new photo to write from each week. We enter the worlds of our own and each other's photos. What universes of experience! We fortify each other's writing, understand each other's feelings, enrich our own and each other's souls. We heal, we craft, we discover, we transcend. Once upon a time, I didn't know, there was a threshold, and I could cross it. I could give myself permission. And one day, I just did.
