Act I: Skylight through a window

[AT RISE: A woman, fifties, beside a single unmade bed, is putting on her boots. A younger woman, twenties, wakes up in a single bed beside her. The sparsely furnished room is tiny. There is one small bureau, a sink, a large window with a mountain view, and the clutter of unpacked suitcases. They see each other as if for the first time.]
