Yesterday I walked into rain beyond no to yes so

this morning I wake and look through downpour

gray sky spread over all, I am hopeful, so eager

for the rain of surprise, now

I lean low to the ground, I am kneeling

knees soak water puddling near what springs -

dazzling as a museum gift shop umbrella -

from another season's decay
